Voicings are the arrangement of notes in a chord! The tone a voicing produces is determined by the order of pitches and playing location. In this video I will show you 9 fundamentals I use to create voicings with intention and purpose.
General Voicing Tips
🔑 The melody on top is strongly recommended
🔑 The 3rd establishes major or minor quality
🔑 The 7th establishes the dominant or major 7 sound
🔑 Doubling notes help pitches stand out
🔑 The location of the pitches will change the tone of a chord
🔑 The order of pitches will change the tone of a chord
🔑 The interval distance between notes can disguise the chord quality
🔑 Closed voicings are within an octave
🔑 Open voicings are over the octave
